People wishing to join Blacktown Pistol Club and apply for a Category H firearms licence.

New Shooter inductions are held at the discretion of the board of directors. There is currently a large waiting list, if you are interested in joining B.P.C in the future we recommend getting on the list as soon as possible.

The induction days are held on a Wednesday night commencing at 6:00pm and take approximately two hours. On this night new members will be required to complete the relevant paperwork, view a presentation on Blacktown Pistol Club rules & firearms regulations and given a tour of the range facilities.

The application process starts with registering your interest with Blacktown Pistol Club by email prior to the induction evening. You will be emailed with the date of the next new shooter intake, the joining fees and provided with requirements for the induction evening. Membership renewal occurs for all members on 31st of October so joining fees are calculated on a pro-rata basis.

After you have officially joined you will do training shoots with the instructors at our club. You will be handling real guns and ammo for this. I order to use guns before having a licence you must complete a P650 form, if you cannot fill out this form, we do not recommend you sign up for membership as you will not be allowed to shoot. Once you have completed your training shoots you will be given a safety certificate. With this certificate you can apply for a probationary pistol license.

Once you have your Probationary licence you must undertake 3 competition shoots in the first 6 months of holding your licence. When you complete this you will be given a PPL certificate. After you have done your mandatory 3 shoots you may apply to get your own gun.

When you have held your probationary licence for a full year you can then apply for your full licence. Once you have this you may shoot at our range anytime we are open, as long as you shoot with another fully licence member or with a range officer.

For most new shooters it takes about 18 months from sign up to full licence.

Our Annual membership covers all your training and range use. When you are a fully licenced member you will only need to pay for your own ammo and targets. While you are training you will need to hire guns from the club until you have your own. Our full membership fee is $720* which includes your capitation with NSW Amateur Pistol Association, who will allow you to shoot at other ranges and provide insurance for you. There are discounts available for, juniors, pensioners, spouses and students.
